Prepare your property

The front of your building is the first part of the house that the quick sale company gets to see up close. Making sure that it looks as good as possible is not the only thing assessed. The security aspect is also viewed as this stage. There are several tips and hints below to help you give the best impression about the front of your home.

Front door and entrance porch

The front door needs to be in tip top condition. If you have a UPVC door, the best thing to clean it with is T-Cut. The stuff that you polish up a car with. This actually gets out any in-ground dirt and also gives a like new finish.

If your front door is wooden, then take a good look at it. Does it need sanding and re-varnishing? Any signs of rot, sand and fill with a filler, then varnish or paint over using the same colour paint of varnish. If you have brass or metal effect letter box, knocker or door knob, it pays to use a metal cleaning substance. Brasso is a good place to start.

Use a window or glass cleaning product on any glass.  If there is chewing gum, or other kid related sticky messes, soak in some vinegar. This breaks down the gum residue and makes its really easy to clean off.

Windows and frames

Make sure you clean the windows. Use soap and water first, rinse, let them dry, then use a window cleaning substance. Make sure there are no smears. Check the window frames, plastic frames clean with T-Cut like instructed on the front door. If you have wooden frame, pick out any rotting sections and fill. Sand and then paint or varnish using the same colour as the door.

Brickwork

Fill any missing concrete with either a cement mix or a heavy duty grout. Scrub off any dirt, chalk drawings or anything that shouldn't be there.

Make sure that all concrete flooring, tiling or inner porch wooden flooring has been scrubbed, brush or vacummed. Store away any work boots, football boots or any other type of footwear that makes it look untidy. De-cluttering the areas has a massive impact on the aesthetics.

Taking the time needed and following these tips can improve the offer made to you and help you sell house quickly with the least amount of fuss.
